English Leather Redesign
English Leather cologne has been in production since 1949 and has dropped in popularity immensely since then. The brand used to be especially popular among manly men throughout the 1960-80s and was promoted by western-esque commercials and actors in that genre. I wanted to change the brand almost entirely from a rough-around-the-edges brand to something more neutral and more sophisticated. I wanted to use a similar wooden cap on the bottle but did not want to make it as obnoxious and large as the original bottle’s wooden cap. I wanted to give the brand a luxury feel and this is shown through the photography and typography, as well as the colors used. I feel the overhaul of the brand was much needed, especially because of the drop in popularity.
